    FreeverseDigi Ronin Games, located in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina, is a development and production studio with a strong track record of working with licenses. The founders bring more than 30 years of combined experience, and have worked with companies such as Disney, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, National Geographic, and licenses such as Strawberry Shortcake, Garfield, The Dukes of Hazzard, Batman and Holly Hobby. The company’s latest agreement with New York Times best-selling author Mary Kay Andrews represents Digi Ronin’s commitment to seek out, and bring to interactive life, unique properties for a wide variety of game players.


    TEAM MEMBERS:

    Executive Director Paul Potera is one of the most prominent people in the gaming business, having been involved since 1994. Charged with strategic development at ThrustMaster in Portland, Oregon, he was responsible for developing and maintaining relations with software developers. Additionally, Paul ran a tiger team for research and development of new products, and was instrumental in the ThrustMaster IPO, which raised $10 Million. Bringing his project management expertise to Interactive Magic in 1996, he was responsible for the production of a number of externally developed projects, including Airwarrior II, Airwarrior III, iF-16, Hind, Fallen Haven, Liberation Day and War Inc. In December of 1998 he joined the fledgling Sinister Games as VP of Production. While at Sinister Games, he oversaw the production of Shadow Company, Soldier, Batman: Gotham City Racer and two Dukes of Hazzard games. In 2000, Paul was an integral part of Sinister being the first US studio to be acquired by Ubisoft Entertainment. He remained at Sinister as the Managing Director until May of 2003. More recently he was the Senior Producer for Octagon Entertainment creating handheld and console games and won a Parent’s Choice Award for Strawberry Shortcake’s Sweet Dreams PS2 game.

    Jay Powell, chief customer officer for Digi Ronin, comes to DigiRonin Games with over 12 years of industry experience and a degree from the University of North Carolina. Jay has developed and continues to maintain relationships with companies such as National Geographic, Disney, Cartoon Network, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Microsoft. Over the past two years he has overseen the development of more than a dozen titles based on a variety of licenses such as Garfield, Holly Hobby, Strawberry Shortcake, and a wide selection of Disney characters. These titles spanned the Nintendo GBA and DS; Microsoft Xbox 360; and PC.

    Chief Creative Officer Ben Moy created and maintained a best-of-breed Quality Assurance methodology at his previous position at Merscom Entertainment. Also acting as technical advisor, game design consultant and electronic software distribution manager, Ben’s responsibilities have included production of numerous titles for Cartoon Network, Disney, National Geographic and Groove Games spanning multiple licenses including “Billy and Mandy” and “Fosters.” His Xbox360 title, Buku Sudoku, is available in nine languages. As both a game producer and a “husband” to video games, Ben is a practitioner of the “careful management or conservation of resources” and utilizes a melding of skills gained from the Engineering School at North Carolina State University.

    Mary Kay Andrews: The Fixer Upper is based on the New York Times Bestselling book by Mary Kay Andrews. Dempsey Jo Killebrew, a lobbyist framed for a crime and then fired by her unsavory boss, flees Washington D.C. and returns to her hometown of Guthrie, Georgia where her father has endowed her with the task of restoring the family’s Victorian mansion into a real-estate cash cow. Players must guide her through the house renovation process, as well as bring her boss to justice! As players search for items and clues to progress in the game and reveal the story, they will encounter “mini-games” based on events from the book. Players must be sure to listen carefully to the characters from the book in case they reveal key information and assign important tasks concerning their success!


    National Geographic Adventure: Ghost Fleet
    The heroine, Fiona, is a passionate sea explorer like her father, Morgan Powell. Morgan was working on locating a famous ghost ship, the City of Glasgow. Once communications were lost, Morgan is feared lost at sea. Worried for her father, Fiona gets quickly into action. She finds a map, some equipment her father was using, and decides to launch a rescue mission on her own.

    Players explore wrecks of the shores of the Eastern United States and Carribean, and help Fiona find her father!

    Help restore rivers around the world as an elite volunteer with National Geographic’s Eco Rescue team! With each rescue mission, players can track their progress by accomplishing objectives and even keep up with budget costs for cleanup along the way all from a PC. From bays to rivers, cities to jungles, players can visit compromised sites to save large and small species from extinction and preserve the future of humanity!

    Dora Saves the Farm
    Help Dora save the farm by completing the chores that need to be done. This PC game takes children into the world of “Dora the Explorer,” a famous Nickelodeon TV show, where they can help Dora and Boots with a special mission by solving puzzles and keeping track of where they are by using their map. Dora and Boots, along with some other friends, introduce children to basic Spanish vocabulary and culture. In Dora Saves the Farm, players must tend to the farm along with Dora and Boots with solving puzzles; just make sure you watch out for Swiper!
